AOC is rumored to be considering switching to a plant-based diet; however, she is afraid of alienating her environmental supporters. A source inside her office confided on the condition of anonymity that AOC is considering going vegan but is concerned her progressive base may not approve. “Our supporters favor holding corporations accountable to individual action. The environmentalists in our base believe corporations should be held responsible for their actions instead of holding individuals responsible. AOC is their fighter against the ExxonMobiles of the world. She can’t be the fighter against their dinner.” The source also indicated focus groups conducted for the Representative’s office rated the environmental movement with much higher favorability than animal advocacy. “Focus groups found climate change activists to be compelling and animal rights activists to be annoying.” However, the focus group did say climate change activists were steadily becoming more annoying indicating AOC could go vegan in the future without alienating her progressive base.
